There are a number of factors that you might want to consider when buying a sofa.

Fabric
You will have many choices available to you when choosing fabrics. The amount of wear that you expect your sofa to have could affect your choice for example you might not want a more delicate fabric if you have children. You may be looking for washable cover bear in mind that the term "washable" means just this but "removable" covers may need dry cleaning. On cheaper models thinner fabrics will have been used, they are fine but will not look as good for so long as a more expensive fabric.

Filling
Generally most people tend to buy sofas with a foam and fibre combination as a filling because not only is it very comfortable but doesn't require the plumping up of cushions that feather filled cushions do.

Finally think about the space you have!
Check the amount of space that you have in your room and look at the dimensions of the sofa. Remember to take into account doorways and access, you don't want to order a new sofa and discover on delivery that it can't fit through the door!

Guide to the "Best of French" Furniture

Our Best of French range is made by a leading manufacturer of high quality cherry furniture. It comes ready assembled in two finishes and six different wood stains.

Finishes
The hand finish with their soft silkiness, is the result of a lacquered coat followed by several hand-waxing operations, these hand waxed processes give the products their unmistakable high quality finish.

When placing an order please be sure to order the finish you desire. The heavily distressed or "Antiqued" finish is indicated by the prefix A the standard or lightly distressed finish is indicated by the prefix D on any quotation or order we prepare.

The definition of finish "A" is :
All external parts are distressed using knocks, claws, woodworms, splits, opening joints, aged dowel-pegs, shading around mouldings, flecking, and a final application of "dust" during the hand-waxing stage.

All internal surfaces are finished in the standard colour.

The definition of finish "D" is:
All external parts are finished without any heavy distressing and show just a lighter level of flecking. All the dowel-pegs are aged and sanded down by hand.

All internal surfaces are finished in the standard colour.
